Old speedo for the 21st Century

The Omata One bike speedometer is a bit misleading. Sure, it looks like a simple gauge, but the Omata isn’t simple at all. Behind the three dials, housed in a slick aluminum case, is a computer. You just wouldn’t know by looking at it.

Day 1
Arrival to Lisbon airport and transfer to the São Mamede Natural Park (3 hours driving). Get refreshed and relax after your journey in the XIII Century Charm Santa Maria Hotel. In the evening there will be a general briefing on the tour followed by a fantastic dinner in this traditional medieval Portuguese village.

Day 2
Following breakfast, we’ll take a pleasant 15 minutes walk up to the clouds to visit the highest Castle in Portugal, Marvão. Heading for the São Mamede Natural Park, we will start with a very smooth downhill to the medieval city of Castelo de Vide, through a narrow, curved mountain road with trees and greens on both sides, to arrive at our paradise picnic scene. You will be astonished when entering the Knights of the Order of Malta Monastery transformed into a luxury hotel - the Flor da Rosa Monastery - a XIV Century Palace-Monastery of Gothic structures with some XVI Century Manueline details. Enjoy dinner in this historical atmosphere.

Day 3
After breakfast, you will leave the superb hotel-monastery of the Order of Malta. Today we are going to be heading slightly further southeast as we visit the 1748 Royal Lusitanian Horse Harass, where we will be able to visit the stables, the falconry and witness the daily activities and practices of one of the most famous horse breeds in the world. Along a leisurely afternoon ride you will come across the Maranhão Dam, a quiet man-made lake in an area of beautiful lowlands and splendorous rugged cliffs. Put your feet up and relax when you arrive at our atmosphere hotel by the lake. The Lago Montargil & Villas is the perfect place to enjoy nature!

Day 4
Today our goal is to arrive at the Portuguese city of tapestries, Arraiolos. Tapestries have been handmade in Arraiolos since the XVII Century, but a legend takes the art of weaving carpets and others pieces to the XII Century! Just imagine the skill and experience acquired in 10 centuries of artistic practice can convey to the hands of these Portuguese handcrafters. For lunch you will experience one of the most exclusive picnics ever. On the way to this evening’s accommodation, we will visit the dolmen-chapel in Pavia, a national monument from the IV Century b.C. built of a single giant rock. It’s now time to relax in our XVI Century luxury convent - Nossa Sra. da Assunção Historical Hotel - where you will be able to feel history while resting in a perfect symbiosis of traditional and modern concepts of Portuguese architecture.

Day 5
We’ll leave Arraiolos and head to the World Heritage UNESCO city of Évora. This day’s tour will be very different from the previous days as you are going to cycle along an ancient railroad that is out of use and has been turned into a green trail. The terrain is 100% non asphalt, but quite easy to pedal through. You’ll then cycle by the ancient railroad stations and marvel at the purple flowers that will escort us all the way to Évora. At the World Heritage city you will have a guided visit to one of the most famous Wineries and have an Alentejo regional lunch, with all the goodness of this rich gastronomy and the finest wines of the Cartuxa Winery. Tonight you will be lodged at the perfect accommodation for such a wonderful city, an exclusive Historic Design Hotel & Spa that dates back to the XVI Century! Enjoy the most of this experience with a Chef's signature gourmet dinner and loosen up!

Day 6
Following breakfast, the morning will be spent cycling and visiting the wonderful walled city’s Roman monuments - Diana's Temple, Bones Chapel, São Francisco's Church and the Aqueduct. Get lost in those ancient narrow streets. Pedaling back to tonight's accommodation, it's time to relax and enjoy the most of this historic atmosphere.

Day 7
For our last stage, we may say that we've saved the best for last. You'll leave our trendy hotel and cycle trough a challenging off-road track, with some of the most incredible scenic landscapes of the Tour.
